300 candles for Coupet

300 games in Ligue 1, wearing the same shirt, is some achievement, even if he is a long way off Jean-Luc Ettori's almost unbreakable record of 602 games for Monaco from 1975-94, in other words, from 20 to 39 years of age!

Gregory Coupet will hit 300 this Friday against Lille (366 in Ligue 1 overall). After 66 games played for Saint-Etienne (in D1) Gregory arrived at OL in the summer of 1996. He played 15 games out of the 38 (Olmeta 22, Breton 1). Then he began racking up the seasons: 31 matchs in 97-98, 34 in 98-99, 34 in 99-2000, 32 in 2000-2001, 34 in 2001-2002, 35 in 2002-2003, 35 in 2003-2004, 31 in 2004-2005 and 18 this season before the visit of Lille. Three times he didn't miss a single league match including back-to-back from 1998-2000. He has conceded 267 goqls in 299 games.
