OL's female squad concluded their training camp in Saint-Malo and 2010 with a great 6-0 victory over Saint-Brieuc.
The stands at the Stade Marville in Saint-Malo were quite full and the atmosphere was warm late on Thursday afternoon, concluding a great day for women's football. Against Saint-Brieuc, Lyon put on a great show, opening the scoring through Aurélie Kaci, played in well by Camille Abily just before the quarter hour mark (0-1, 14’). Four minutes later, the Breton turned into goal scorer thanks to a great pass from Louisa Nécib (0-2, 18’). And after Camille Abily, it was the the other Breton Eugénie Le Sommer, who beat her former partners with a a beautiful volley, following a cross from Sonia Bompastor (0-3, 26’). Saint-Brieuc could not get their heads above water and conceded another goal before the break, Lara Dickenmann firing home, in a one on one with the keeper (0-4, 35’).
The Swiss international, in great form this afternoon, continued to lead her opponents a merry dance after the break. Despite several changes made by Patrice Lair, Eugénie Le Sommer scored her second goal of the game (0-5, 66’) and Sandrine Brétigny scored the last goal of the year with a superb volley (0-6, 69’).
A perfect ending to a very successful training camp. Only Lotta Schelin, debilitated by migraines, could not attend the party. Sarah Bouhaddi and Elodie Thomis continued to treat their injuries and the young Amel Majri confirmed her strong potential. Very satisfied with this trip, the Lyon coach hopes to repeat the experience in case of a good European run.
