A look around the morning papers

This morning’s papers all tip their hats to the footballing force that is Olympique Lyonnais …

[IMG41306#L]As l’Equipe puts it “NEVER SEEN BEFORE”… in thrashing its nearest rival Lens, Lyon has taken its lead over second place to 17 points… and l’Equipe continues in the same vein… “LYON STROLLS TO VICTORY”, also noting that last night, Juninho scored his 31st goal from a free kick.

[IMG41305#L]Le Progrès went with the headline: “LIGUE 1: OL PULLS AWAY” before going further in its sports supplement: “OL IN A CLASS OF ITS OWN” as well as “OL SILENCES EVERYONE”, underlining Lyon’s exceptional gap at the top of the table…

[IMG41303#L]It’s the same story in Aujourd’hui en France “LYON IS REALLY SUPERIOR”. This paper goes so far as to say that the 2006-2007 season is all but over.

Finally, this daily paper caught out eye: METRO. “A HURRICANE DEVASTATES BOLLAERT”. Our journalistic colleague finishes the article by asking: Houlllier’s men have a 17-point lead over Lens and a goal difference of +28. Who can say better than that?
