Mr Ceferin will take charge of the clash on Wednesday night...

This referee will direct the clash between Lyon and Steaua in what will be his 40th international match. He has so far refereed a French team only once: when Strasbourg hosted PFC Litex Lovech in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Cup in the 2005-2006 campaign (0-0).

7 Lyon players have played in the 5 matches of this campaign: Clerc, Cris, Abidal, Juninho, Malouda, Tiago and Toulalan, with Cris the only one to have played all 90 minutes of each game. Juninho, Malouda, Cris and Abidal won’t make it to six games as they aren’t on the team sheet this week. 7 scorers: Benzema 2, Fred 2, Malouda 2, Tiago 2, Carew 1, Juninho 1, Källström 1.

4 Bucarest players are in the same situation: Dica, Nicolita, Lovin and Oprita. Nicolita is the only one to have played all 450 minutes. 3 scorers: Dica 3, Badea 2, Ghionea 1.

Réveillère and Toulalan are at risk of a one-match suspension if they receive a yellow card, as are Ghionea, Petre, Oprita, Goian, Nicolita and Cernea.

Grégory Coupet is the oldest player of the two teams (34 at the end of December). Hatem Ben Arfa is the youngest (20 next March). On the European stage, Coupet is the most experienced player (89 matches) ahead of Wiltord (84) and Carew (79). The Norwegian has scored the most goals (25) ahead of Wiltord (20).
