AS Rome will host Palermo, capital of Sicily, in a top-of-the-table clash at the Stadio Olimpico at 20h30 on Sunday December 17.

Second on the table, 7 points behind leaders Inter Milan, AS Roma will be trying to put some distance between itself and its nearest rival. Leaders up until the 12th round, Francesco Guidolin’s Palermo hold third place currently, one point behind the Romans.
Totti and co recently recorded a resounding 3-0 loss to rivals Lazio, but before that had proven very powerful, forging 6 victories in a row.

The Romans will have to be wary of a Palermo side famous for big away wins, such as in Milan (2-0 against AC Milan), in Rome (2-1 over Lazio) and Florence (3-2 over Fiorentina). Palermo also has the 3rd-top scorer in the Serie A, Carvalho Amauridi Oliveira. with a total of 8 goals, the Brazilian is one goal behind the current Capocannoniere, Francesco Totti.
Totti is Rome’s top goal scorer in all competitions with 12 goals. Behind him are Montella (6) and Perrotta (5).
Rome (along with Inter Milan) boasts the best attack in the Serie A.

For this match against Palermo, Luciano Spalletti has a squad of 20 players including, for the first time, Stephano Okaka Chuka.

The Rome Squad : Bertagnoli, Cassetti, Chivu, Curci, De Rossi, Defendi, Mancini, Marangon, Mexes, Montella, Okaka, Panucci, Perrotta, Pizarro, Rosi, Taddei, Tonetto, Totti, Virga, Vucinic.
