What a week for Lionel Messi! Lyon's tormenter in the 3-0 Champions League loss on Wednesday was at it again on Saturday evening at the Nou Camp, at the expense of Sevilla. Another two goals from the Argentine permitted Franck Rijkaard's men to record their second Liga win of the campaign.
Of course, the Catalans didn't have it all their own way and had to wait until the final 15 minutes before opening the scoring. Thierry Henry's effort came back of the post and Messi was on hand to fire past Palop (73') before beating the Sevilla 'keeper again from the penalty spot after Geovani had been brought down (80').
The former Lyon striker Fredi Kanouté, got one goal back for the visitors in the final minute (90').
Thanks to the win Barcelona move provisionally second, one point behind Real, but having played one match more.
Ronaldinho didn't play. Officially, he's suffering from a calf strain, but apparently the Brazilian is not happy with seeing his private life all over the Spanish press.
