Bruno Genesio spoke to the media in a pre-match press conference on Tuesday, the day before Guingamp's Coupe de la Ligue visit.
"We have a full strength squad except for Corentin (Tolisso) who was injured against Rennes. He suffered a hamstring strain in his left leg but we still don't know how long he'll be unavailable."
Wednesday's match against Guingamp
"We won't throw this match away. I have a group of players who are professional enough not to take this match lightly. The atmosphere of the game is likely to be different, with fewer people in the stadium. But it's nonetheless necessary for us to focus 100% on taking the points. It's also about revenge for our last match against Guingamp (1-3), a match that taught us many things. We spoke a lot about it after the game and that got us motivated again."
The Coupe de la Ligue
"We're capable of winning matches and titles here in Lyon. The Coupe de la Ligue is the shortest competition for winning a trophy and it's one we need to go after. This match is important for us because we have the opportunity to go right to the end of this competition, with a final here at the Parc OL. But there's no extra pressure on us, even if the final will take place in our stadium."
"Certain players deserve to play, so there will be quite a few changes tomorrow. We hope to be competitive in all four competitions in which we're involved. We have to have the squad to play on all these stages. Tomorrow, we'll line up against a side who are among the best five or six sides in the league, even when they play away. Mathieu (Gorgelin) will start between the posts; he deserves to play and has shown in the past that he can be relied on. Every day in training he shows that we can count on him. I trust him for tomorrow and for the rest of the competition, keeping in mind also that we need to give Anthony (Lopes) a rest. Christophe Jallet is fit and is likely to play, while Nabil (Fekir) should start up front. Clément (Grenier) will be in the squad and we'll see if he'll take part in tomorrow's match. We're also preparing for the match with Monaco because some players will want to have a rest ahead of the trip."
The victory against Rennes
"Our home form worries me a little. The confidence that we take from results should allow us to play more attractive football. The whole team was struggling against Rennes on Sunday. When we suffer, it's a team problem. The most important thing was to win the match. We proved our effectiveness and that's a positive point. Also, we haven't conceded a goal for several matches, except for the game against PSG. This is also satisfying."
Europa League objective
"The Champions League is the most exciting competition. We're therefore disappointed to not be continuing that adventure. The Europa League is still a tough competition. There are many factors to take into account to win a European cup. It's very unpredictable. Obviously we want to win, but it's difficult to talk about a tangible objective. A curse and not a blessing? No, I don't think so. It provides extra motivation. Playing Thursdays and Sundays is a bit harder but we have the squad depth to do it. It's difficult to estimate the number of points that this will cost us. Playing is always what it's about in our job."
Gourcuff's return to Lyon
"Fiasco? It's a big word. He was with us for five years. There's a sense of underachievement because we didn't manage to get him up to the level he should be at. For me, there's also a sense of failure. Maybe he's found a balance at Rennes. It's an atmosphere where he feels confident... Rennes have some other good players."
