The Lyon coach and his players took turns at the OLTV mic to share their thoughts after their win against Metz.
“I’m not satisfied with our overall performance, aside from the first half-hour in which we were rewarded with two fine goals. We were too smug, even if we maintained our dynamic. We have to do better. It’s difficult to account for. I didn’t really like what I saw in the second half. But we’ll be able to sort it out and keep the three points. This game shows that the team is still immature. There might be some easing off, a lack of humility… We’re back in the top three and we managed to keep a clean sheet… We need to prepare well for Everton because the Europa League is an important competition for us.”
“We’re happy with the result. We didn’t really play that well, though. We lost control in the second half. We slacked off a bit after the break. We got back into the top three tonight and that’s good. We know that the Everton match will be decisive for our qualification. We need to inject something new on Thursday night. I’m sure that everyone will put in 200%.”
“We didn’t play our best football but until our current run, we weren’t winning these sorts of games. So it’s really nice to take the three points tonight. We didn’t manage to hit our stride. We slacked off in the second half and had a few lapses in concentration.”
