Build up the points total...

Three more points in the bag for OL would do them the world of good...They should, however, be wary of this Toulouse side who have the best away record in the L1 this season...

This 17 match in the league for Lyon as one simple demand: a victory. A victory to build on the difficult success in Montpellier, to continue the series begun on the evening of their last defeat (ASSE in Week 7), to stick with the leading pack, or improve their position. Simple... very simple. It remains to be done, which could be more complicated.

The opponent of the day certainly did not want to abdicate before playing. They also present a strong case as evidenced by their results away from home, the best of L1 with 13 points. They have quality players, even if they will still be deprived of Cetto and Pelé, as well as Braaten, their top scorer. They are a side which has their feet firmly on the ground despite their position in the standings (9th) that allows a few hopes for the rest of the year. The Lyon fans will discover the young striker Santander and could see once again Tafer the OL player on loan at Toulouse. A group which scores few, does not manage many attempts on goal, but does not concede a lot of goals either.

It could prove to be difficult to move this team in Toulouse usually organized in a 4-1-4-1 formation. If OL manage, finally, to play at the same collective tempo for 90 minutes, anything could be possible. If they manage to put together all the good points of the season so far, they could do a lot of damage...

Having played on Tuesday night, Cris and his team-mates have had time to recover and work ... especially the defensive shortcomings of the group, also hoping that they will be more effective. Certainly, OL concede too many goals, but they do not score enough in terms of their opportunities, their attempts. Will Claude Puel, still without Gourcuff, keep Lisandro out on the left flank to begin with? Toulalan is expected to make his return to the midfield. Who will accompany him and in what pattern? Another question concerns the central defensive pairing where, clearly, there are three players vying for a place!

Finally, by taking maximum points, OL would put themselves in very good conditions before heading to the Stade Vélodrome ... That would also be very important.
