Coupe de la Ligue: OL – Metz in the last 16

Olympique Lyonnais found themselves faced with FC Metz after the draw for the last 16 of the Coupe de la Ligue which took place at midday at the headquarters of France Télévisions.


Just like last season, Olympique Lyonnais have drawn FC Metz at Gerland in the last 16 of the Coupe de la Ligue. Last season, at the same stage of the competition , Metz were victorious at Gerland (3-1) thanks to goals from Mendy, Renoir and Rocchi, conceding a goal to Cris.

Given a bye for the last 32 of the competition, those clubs qualified for the a European cup (Girondins de Bordeaux, Olympique de Marseille, Olympique Lyonnais, Toulouse FC, LOSC Lille Métropole and EA Guingamp) make their entry into the contest. The big match of the last 16 see's AS Saint Etienne and Olympique de Marseille battle it out at Geoffroy-Guichard. There are five matches between L1 clubs including a Lille-Rennes and Le Mans-Bordeaux. PSG will travel to Guingamp while Toulouse are at home to Nancy.

One things is certain: there will be a club from the L2 in the quarter-finals, with Sedan facing Clermont at the Louis-Dugauguez stadium.
