Female Euro: France eliminated

The French woman's team have been knocked out of the Euro 2009 on penalties by Holland. With regrets...

After having dominated Holland in open play but not on the scoreboard (0-0), Bruno Bini's France team came undone during the penalty shoot-out (4-5). The OL players Laura Georges, Corine Fanco, Amandine Henry, Louisa Nécib and Elodie Thomis were all in the starting line-up. With the goalkeepr Sarah Bouahddi out through injury, Sandrine Brétigny came in to replace her. During the penalty shoot-out, Amandine Henry was succesful, while Corine Franco missed, as did Ophélie Meilleroux and Candie Herbert.
