Florent Malouda is the only player in the OL squad to have played every minute of all 6 of the club’s previous last-16 clashes in the Champions League. A quick look back…

In 2003-2004, he plays his first last-16 match against in San Sébastien against Real Sociedad. He set up the OL goal; his cross being deflected for an own goal by Sociedad defender Schürrer (18’). He had 2 shots in the game. In the second leg, he played at left back.

In 2004-2005, on February 23, he was up against Werder Bremen in Bremen. He started the first OL goal, which was finished by Wiltord (9’). He had one shot from outside the area that went wide. In the second leg, he scored 1 of 7 goals in the 61st minute, lashing home a left-footed shot from outside the area. He made the assist for Wiltord’s first goal (8’). He also got a yellow card (66’) for an altercation with Valdez. A huge match for the man from Guyana.

In 2005-2006, on February 21, he’s part of the winning team in Eindhoven. He had one shot. On March 8 at Gerland, he made the assist for OL’s first goal, scored by Tiago (26’). He also had a great chance with a direct shot inside the box.
