“This is magical because everything we do with the OL Foundation takes magic allows the Sport in the City kids to dream. There’s a fostering of closeness, of confidence and of sharing between our team”, explained Philippe Oddou, director of Sport in the City.”
December 2003, a month, a year that Philippe Oddou will never forget. The Palais de la Bourse was the venue for a charity gala evening for Sport in the City. Philippe Oddou presented his new project: to build a campus in the suburb of Vaise. “At the time, he said, the outlay would be considerable, about three million euros!” After having listened carefully to Philippe Oddou, Jean Michel Aulas took to the stage: “It’s been three years that the club has been associated with Sport in the City. This campus project is wonderful, but you don’t have a backer yet, I’ll put up a loan of 500,000 euros.” Gérard Collomb, Mayor of Lyon at the time, then made the same commitment, as did Jean-Jacques Queyranne, who was then President of the Region.
Today, the campus is in full swing and the OL Foundation is one of its proud sponsors.
