Gomis signs for Swansea

The former OL No.18, out of contract this summer, Bafétimbi Gomis has signed for Welsh side Swansea who play in the English Premier League…

A few months on... and Bafé has finally joined Swansea, 12th in the EPL last term, after already being 'linked' to the club in the recent past! It's a new challenge for the striker that turns 29 on 6 August. After five seasons with OL, it is his first overseas league experience. Gomis played 244 matches with OL, scoring 95 buts (fifth highest in club history), and has left his mark at the club. It was a tough start for the former Saint-Etienne forward… but he worked hard and progressed across the board... his final season was constantly hindered by questions over his future... Stay or leave? Free or fee? A real transfer saga…

At OL, Bafé showed off his goal-scoring qualities. He past the century mark in L1 (102). He netted at minimum of ten goals for eight years in a row. He has earned eight caps for France. He scored three goals against Marseille... four in Zagreb… his derby goals… He netted 17 European goals, but he missed out on his chance to take part in the World Cup in Brazil.

It's time for a new adventure after five years with OL where he won the Coupe de France and the Trophée des champions. We wish him every success in his new colours.
