HATEM BEN ARFA extends deal to 2010

Having arrived at Olympique Lyonnais in 2002, Hatem BEN ARFA has signed a new three-year extension to his current deal and is therefore tied to the club until 2010...

Hatem BEN ARFA, having given his verbal agreement after a second meeting with OL president Jean-Michel Aulas last week, signed a new deal on Tuesday.

Having gone to Clairefontaine until the age of 15, Hatem BEN ARFA then spent another two seasons in the Lyon youth ranks before signing a first three-year professional deal with OL in July 2004.

An Under-17 European champion with France in 2004, and also won the Under-16 French championship with Lyon in 2004 and the Under-18 French championship in 2005 as well as making the final of the Gambardella Cup that same year.

Since signing pro with Lyon and making his L1 debut on August 6, 2004, he has played his part in two Ligue 1 crowns and two Trophées des Champions, in 2005 and 2006.

In signing a new deal with Olympique Lyonnais, Hatem BEN ARFA has demonstrated his desire to continue to improve and ultimately prove himself at the highest level with the quintuple French champions.

Jean-Michel AULAS met with Sidney GOVOU last week to finalise the terms of a new contract until June 30 2010 which should be finalised in the coming days.
