The draw for the first round of the knockout phase of the Champions League was held today in Nyon. February 20 (1st leg, in Lyon) and March 4 (2nd leg, in Machester), Olympique Lyonnais will take on Manchester United.

In the group phase, the "Reds Devils" finished top of group F with 16 points (the best out of all 32 sides)

"Man U" is currently second in the English Premier League.

The Lyonnais and the Mancunians have already met, in the group phase of the 2004-05 campaign. The Lyonnais lost 2-1 at Old Trafford and then drew 2-2 in the return leg.

Manchester United has won the Champions League on 2 occasions (1968 and 1999).

The other knockout phase, 1st round matches:

Celtic Glasgow – Barcelona
Schalke 04 – Porto
Liverpool – Inter Milan
AS Rome – Real Madrid
Olympiakos – Chelsea
Arsenal – Milan AC
Fenerbahçe – FC Sevilla

Christophe Galtier: We knew we'd be drawn against a quality side. At this stage of the competition, there are only huge teams left. Even when you think of Porto or Sevilla, who would perhaps be the ones most within our reach, the team we're playing is Man U and everything they represent in terms of prestige. It'll be a very high-level match and we'll be the underdogs. No-one thought we'd make it this far and now everyone's betting on Manchester. Maybe there'll be an upset. We have two former Lille players, Bodmer and Keita, who took on Manchester last season. For them, it's a chance for revenge.
