Ligue 1: Week 12

Published on the 04 November 2010 à 10:35 by R.B

The Classico obviously dominates this week-end ... the leaders Brest travel to Lille ... This round of matches comes after a midweek European entr’acte for 5 French teams...

This seasons Classico is also a top of the table clash. The Parisians have the opportunity to overtake Marseille (who have a game in hand). As for the Phoenicians, a success could put them top of the table depending on the results of Brest and Rennes. It is also a match between European competitors.

Brest travel to Lille. Will the Breton side be able to keep their defence hermetically sealed? This will be a serious test for the newly promoted side. The “Verts” have not won since the derby ... they are stagnating for the moment. The arrival of Lorient may be the opportunity to restart and stay at the very top of the rankings. Among the other matches, Lens would do well to win at home against Montpellier. Nancy are at home to Monaco after a success in Caen. The team from the Lorraine can move away from the bottom of the table. But Monaco are not at their best at the moment, in need of points!

Nice, just like Sochaux, play at home this weekend. A false move would see them slip further into the danger zone. Between Bordeaux and Valenciennes we will see a mid-table match. For Arles-Avignon, the hope is of landing a first victory. Will Caen be the first team in the L1 to lose against the promoted side from Provence?
