Ligue 1 Week 3

Published on the 18 August 2011 à 11:18 by R.B

A clasico (OM - ASSE), an encounter between promoted sides (ACA - Evian TG) ... a game at the top of the table (Montpellier - Rennes) ... a round of matches which comes after midweek European action for four Ligue 1 teams...

OL, PSG, Sochaux and Rennes all had more or less complicated continental occupations during the week. Will this have an influence over the weekend especially as these teams will play the second leg of their European matches in the middle of next week?

During Week 3 of the L1, Dijon (0 points) hosts Lorient and Nice (0 points) receive the leaders Toulouse. First points or a new good affair for Lorient and Toulouse, a Toulouse side who have not conceded any goals? Caen (6 points) are at home to a Lille side that has only one point to their name. How will the champions of France behave against the Normans led by Pierre-Alain Frau?

A duel between newly promoted Ajaccio and Evian TG. The Corsicans took their first point to general surprise at Lyon, Govou and his partners have four points on the board. This journey to Corsica is not mission impossible for the L2 champions. PSG are looking for their first success. Kombouaré’s men will perhaps face Valenciennes...with Pastore. A victory is imperative for the Parisian club!

At the Stade de la Mosson, the top match of the day between one of the leaders (Montpellier) and a Rennes team with 4 points. And then of course there is the clasico OM - ASSE with the Verts who have taken maximum points taking on the Phoenicians who have recorded two draws. Deschamps’s Marseille side know what they have to do ...
