A look back on one of the events which marked 2009...

It was on the 5th of June 2009, OL took the title of Reserve champions of France thanks to a victory, 3-0, at Sochaux

There are surely victories which mark a career and those taken with the youth teams are an integral part of that. They remain forever in the mind of a football player.

There is a group of around twenty players who will always share what happened on a beautiful June afternoon, when OL put in one of their most accomplished performaces of the season which led them to the title of French champions.

After a win in the semi-final at Gerland against Rennes, Robert Valette’s team did not tremble and won their match 3-0 against FC Sochaux thanks to two goals from Yohan Court and one from Yannis Tafer. A success which allowed OL to once again rule in this category, after their last title taken in 2006 against Rennes. Their coronation included a speech from Jean-Michel Aulas: « This victory is the starting point of your career. It is a title that puts you and your club in the spotlight. It is a trampoline, a solid grounding for your future career. ». Message understood.

The winners against Sochaux: Lopes – Kolodziecziak (Seguin, 71), Fontaine, N'Diaye, Gassama - Valdivia (cap.) (Tie-Bi, 77), Gonalons - Court, Dedola (Grenier 77), Pied - Tafer.
