Memories of 2006 with... Florian Maurice

Published on the 27 December 2006 à 09:00

2006 was rich in emotions. The quarter final against AC Milan, the fifth league title and the World Cup. Players, staff and doctors give us their best memories for the year and their hopes for the year ahead. Florian Maurice...

A product of the youth academy, Florian Maurice knows OL like the back of his hand. European ties have no more secrets for him. He says that OL’s brilliant 2006 has its origins in a victory against Real Madrid in September 2005, a victory he says catapulted OL to second half of the season full of exceptional results.
“My strongest memory of last year, in terms of sport, is OL’s victory against Real Madrid in September. 3-0, and we could have further ahead had Juninho not missed his penalty. That remains a great football memory for me, as after the game I thought that OL had taken a huge step on the European stage, even if we couldn’t back it up afterwards. But we’re still hopeful.”
That European season ended one April evening in Milan, when, 3 minutes from the end, the Milan war machine scored.
“Flo” has ideas for a follow-up. “My wishes for 2007 are good health for my family, OL, OLtv and all I love. For the club, why not win the Champions League? “Flo” Maurice? An optimist, and OL to the core.
