OL played its 52nd match of the season against Lens. The Lyonnais registered their 33rd victory… and kept a clean sheet…

33 wins, 12 draws and 7 losses… that’s OL’s record with 2 matches left to go (counting the Trophée des Champions as a victory). While OL equalled its record for league wins in a season (25, from last season), it couldn’t match last season’s figure for wins in all competitions, which stands at 36.

21st clean sheet of the season: 15 in the league, 1 in the Coupe de la Ligue and 5 in the Champions League. OL can still match its clean sheet record in the league (17)… and finish with 23 for the season, one behind their effort of 24 from season 2005-06.

Juninho scored his 77th goal in OL colours and now stands just one strike behind Nikolic and André Guy (78 goals). These 2 players are ranked in 7th place on OL’s all-time goal-scoring table, but Nikolic played 2 seasons in D2. The rankings? Di Nallo 220 goals, Lacombe 148, Chiesa 135, Anderson 94, Combin 91, Schultz 87, Nikolic and Guy 78, Juninho 77… In terms of goal average per season, Sonny Anderson is on top with 23.5! Juninho scored 5 goals in 2001-2002, then 13, 17, 16, 14 and this season his tally so far is 12. He has beaten 46 different keeper, including Itandje, who has become “Juni’s” favourite keeper, 6 times. He has never scored in the Coupe de la Ligue or the Trophée des Champions.

Govou scored his first league goal of the season (his 39th in L1). He has played 1,647 minutes since his last strike, which came against Le Mans. He played in 25 matches (20 as a starter) without scoring.

Lens is the 7th team this season to take no points from its 2 matches against OL. Lille, ASSE, Lorient, Sedan, Nancy and Le Mans are the 6 other teams in the same boat. The Nordistes have the catastrophic record against OL this season of 7 goals conceded and 0 scored!

3rd penalty scored in the league by a 3rd different scorer. After Benzema against Nice and Juninho against Sochaux, Diarra scored his against Lens. 2 have been missed: Fred against Nice and Juninho against St-Etienne.
