ARJEL, the French online gambling regulatory authority, has handed down its verdict and UEFA will not open any investigation...

The French online gambling regulatory authority (ARJEL) announced on Thursday that  there were 'no particular anomalies' in the French online gambling market concerning OL's qualification for the last-16 of the Champions League after their 7-1 triumph away to DinamoZagreb: "'Arjel has undertaken all standard verifications. In light of the analysis undertaken by the French regulatory body, no particular anomalies were recorded, as far as amounts placed, the number of individual bets, or the total amounts wagered, is concerned." This afternoon, Jean-Michel Aulas announced on French radio station RTL that they were the findings he was expecting.

For their part, UEFA has announced that it has found no suspect wagers on the match, lost 7-1 by Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday night, or on the Real Madrid 3-0 Ajax Amsterdam match. No investigation will be opened. Using a special fraud detection system, European football's governing body claimed they revealed 'nothing out of the ordinary.' (With AFP)
