The month of March was marked by the break away by OL in the League. The end of February had been worrying for the side. Going into the month they were only three points in front of second placed Bordeaux.

78000 spectators fill up the Stade de France for this match that Lyon win. A victory that is synonymous with a turnaround in fortunes. The Stade de France, a prestigious place for French football kicks off Lyon’s march towards the title. Bordeaux learn to their despair that Lyon are in charge, losing 4-2 at Gerland. Lyon are back and they will go on to win six matches in a row. Nine points separate Lyon from second placed Bordeaux, with only seven games left to play. Seven, like the seventh title of French Champions that is coming into view on the horizon.

The club was born on the 9th of March 1908 in trhe back room of the Milanese restaurant « Il orologiaio » (The Watchmaker). A century after their creation, Inter hold their place amonst the great clubs of Europe winning their League on 15 occasions, 5 Italian Cups, 2 European Cups, 2 UEFA and 2 Intercontinental Cups.
March is also the month of locla elections in France. After the second round of voting, the Left is in front with 59 of the 101 French dpeartments, eight of them having swung to the left. The right doesn’t win any. The Socialist Party takes Toulouse and Strasbourg. As for Gérard Collomb the mayor of Lyon, he easily wins straight from the first round of voting taking a second term of office.
