Bruno Genesio has announced an 18-man squad to take part in the Coupe de la Ligue match against Guingamp on Wednesday night (21:05). There will be plenty of changes.
Two days after just getting by against Stade Rennais (1-0) by the narrowest of margins, Lyon are on the road again on Wednesday to kick off their Coupe de la Ligue campaign against Guingamp (21:05). It's a match thate Bruno Genesio's players will not take lightly because it can lead them on to a new trophy, something they haven't achieved since the Coupe de France in 2012. And even if it gets looked down upon, the Coupe de la Ligue has a special flavour for Lyon this time because the final will be played in their den at the Parc OL on 1 April, 2017.
Guingamp: one of the four stepping stones that could lead OL to a new domestic title. It's an objective openly targeted by Jean-Michel Aulas and Bruno Genesio. So it's with a view to adding to the trophy cabinet that OL will make sure not to take this match lightly, as the OL boss explained at the press conference. After that, his players met up at the Groupama OL Training Center for a last training session before their round-of-16 match. Mathieu Gorgelin, who will start tomorrow for the first time this season, was in attendance. As were Christophe Jallet, who should start, and Emanuel Mammana, who is also back to full fitness and who is part of the 18-man squad for tomorrow's meeting, which Bruno Genesio revealed after the day's training session.
