OL's female team are at home to the leaders PSG on Sunday at 15h00. If they win, Farid Benstiti's players would retake first place in the league.
Thanks to their 3-1 victory away to Montpellier last week-end, OL’s female team have remained in contact with PSG. With just one point separating the team’s before kick-off in the big match of Week 10 in the female D1, the French champions are hoping to retake their usual first place.
For the moment, the two teams have had an almost perfect run. Paris have only conceded one draw 0-0 in Montpellier, while Lyon lost for the first time in 3 years away to the humble Hénin-Beaumont. Sunday’s opponents each possess their own assets. Collectively, the Parisian side play as a block and are yet to concede the slightest goal. OL possess a flamboyant attack who have already hit the back of the net 46 times, or an average of 5 goals per match.
Individually, the Lyon team seems to be better armed with a clever mix of French and foreign players which has worked out well over the last few seasons. But, PSG pulled of a coup in the transfer market by signing three French international players: « Paris have always been a tough side. Their side has been strengthened this season with the arrivals of Elise Bussaglia from Montpellier, Sonia Bompastor and Camille Abily who will return to the USA after the break », admits the OL defender Laura Georges. With the imminent departure of the two former OL players, PSG want to pull off a good result at Gerland on Sundazy afternoon tro give themselves a little more breathing space. But, Shirley Cruz and her team-mates have no intention of letting their adversary pull away.
