I scored my second goal of the season and it was the winner, so that's great. I'm in form and feeling confident. One of the aims for this evening, was to get even closer to the top three and the leaders. We also wanted to continue our run of victories. We were solid tonight, right to the end.

The objective was to finish the week well. We stuck together and scored at the right time. From that moment on, we controlled things well, even if you're never really safe until you've scored that second goal. In my opinion, football should be played on grass. Maybe they struggle here in winter and it's true, it's better to play on this than a terrible frozen pitch, but I still prefer playing on grass. We have to keep these results going next Saturday against Evian.

Lorient were unbeaten here at home so this is a great result. We didn't start well and weren't far away from giving away a penalty, but the referee got that one right as Cris was outside the box. As the match wore on, we created more and more chances. We managed to hold on for the result tonight, whereas recently when we haven't scored that second goal away from home, we've been punished. It didn't happen tonight. If we can get good results in our last two games before the winter break, and they won't be easy, we'll be where we want to be - that is: right near the leaders. We've now won our last four matches and are four points off the top three. That's good, but we have to stay humble. This has been a truly fabulous week for Olympique Lyonnais.

Lorient were undefeated here and it's really not easy to play on this surface where the footing is completely different. We fought hard to slowly get the upperhand and really could have made the game safe and not be worried until the final whistle. My players' athletic and technical quality finally showed through. Everyone worked hard for the team and stayed organised and disciplined. Licha was not one hundred per cent and I didn't want to take any risks.
