PSV make the semis

Just like OL on Wednesday night, PSV Eindhoven was on the road, playing in the national cup competition.

Guus Hiddink's men didn't have an easy draw, travelling to Groningen, fifth in the league and one of only two teams to have defeated PSV this season (along with Feyenoord).
The game was meant to mark the return of Vennegoor of Hesselink but the shape of the match meant he passed the evening in the bench. Indeed, after just 27 minutes of play, PSV was leading 3-0. Captain Phillip Cocu scored with a diving header from Jason Culina's free-kick (5'). 20 minutes later, the Peruvian Jefferson Farfán doubled the mark, before Phillip Cocu scored his second of the evening, again from a Culina free-kick.
After the one-way traffic in the first half, the Groningen players made a comeback that had the Euroborg Stadium on its feet. The Nowegian Nevland reduced the deficit in the 55th minute before Fledderus made it 3-2 with just minutes remaining (87). But it wasn't enough to deny PSV a place in the semi-finals.
They will be joined in the final four by AZ Alkmaar, Roda JC and the winner of tonight's match between Ajax Amsterdam and Heerenveen. The draw will be made after the final quarter-final.
On Saturday, February 4at 19:30, OL's future opponents in the Champions League welcome Roda JC to the Phillips Stadion for round 22 of the league.
