Reactions following Lens – OL
I’m pleased again by our defensive performance. However, I think we could have down better up front.
Still, the draw is very good for the championship.
Francis Gillot: We played very, very well against a very good Lyon team. Tonight, when you look at the score after 90 minutes, then we feel like we’ve lost two points. Despite a very nice equaliser for Lyon, I saw some very promising things from my side which bodes well for the coming weeks. That’s football.
Grégory Coupet: This feels like a win. The draw seems like the right result. We saw a very offensive match and it’s a shame we conceded that goal which really set us back.
Tonight we struggled to play our best football. In the future, we need to be more disciplined and give more if we want to achieve our goals.
Patrice Bergues: We struggled. We really thought we were going to lose. Lens we very effective up front whereas we were not good in attack.
Despite all that, the team showed again its incredible team spirit: it’s a team of great competitors. They came back thanks to the desire of each and every one of them, no-one gave up.
On a psychological level, this point is worth a lot. For the upcoming matches, it could be a very important point.
Patrick Müller: The draw makes sense. We believed right until the end. We never stopped trying to play football and in the end it paid off.
For the rest of the season, a point won in the dying seconds of a match can be worth a lot more.
Pierre-Alain Frau: It was a very balanced and even match. We played the way we needed to.
I’ll say bravo to my old teammates because it seemed as though they were heading for defeat, a big bravo and good luck.
