Reactions after the match between AS Monaco and OL.

Gérard Houllier: Objectively, in terms of the quality of our play in the first half, we deserved more than 0-0. We showed we could end the season playing well, which is essential, but we lacked sharpness up front. I’m really disappointed to have lost.

Patrice Bergues: We shouldn’t have lost this match. We suffered from a lack of sharpness up front. After a good first half, we had some trouble in the second. The players played a strong match with a lot of desire.
This Monaco side has real quality. When you look at their players, it’s amazing to see where the club is ranked – they should be among the top clubs. Despite the loss, the players should be congratulated for their attitude and drive – they lived up to the title of champions.

Karim Benzema: We started well but didn’t take our chances. Ion the second half, they had 2 or 3 chances… br /> In terms of our quality of play, we were rather good. We created a lot of chances. I’m happy for Menez, who is doing well at Monaco.

Loïc Rémy: It was an intense match. It’s tough coming on during a game because I didn’t get a chance to train during he week. Tonight, we had more chances than they did, and we deserved a better result.

Alou Diarra: In terms of how the game was played, we could have easily got a point, had we not lapsed in concentration at one point. I tip my hat to Monaco. We really wanted this 13th away win and gave everything we had.
Personally, I felt good; it was my second match in a row. Now we’ll try to finish the season with a celebration.

Sylvain Monsoreau: Greg (Coupet) saved well from my header. The main thing is that we won the match. We wanted to finish our season well. Job done. Tonight we wanted to get back to winning ways.
In the first half, OL controlled the game, but our keeper did really well. We know we have the players to cause the OL defence problems.
It’s great to see my old team-mates, and even better to beat them.
