Reactions after the match between OL and Rennes.

Alain Perrin: We made up for our home loss to Marseille. It was a readjustment. Rennes fought it out for a long time. We have strong attacking potential and tonight we were very solid at the back and kept a clean sheet.

After a 15-day international break, it was important for us to rediscover our rhythm.

Rémy Vercoutre: The defenders in front of me battled hard tonight. We kept a clean sheet. After the match against Marseille, that’s a great thing.
With “Nino” (Sylvain Wiltord) there was kind of a match within a match. He played well and posed us a lot of problems.
Tonight we saw some excellent players on display. Our midfield is the best in L1 and the two youngsters up front (Ben Arfa and Benzema) are fantastic.
Against Barcelona, we’ll need to be on the ball.

Sidney Govou: We played a huge match thanks mainly to a strong first half. We managed to stay very compact. When we play like that, when we all decide to pull in the same direction, we can make things pretty difficult for the opposition.
The most important thing is to win against Barcelona. We need to focus on our recuperation and approach the match gently.

Jean-Michel Aulas: We had an exceptional first half, on par with the one we had against Bordeaux. This is a very talented team. The result is really good for us, especially coming against one of the league’s dark horses for the title. We’re concerned for Karim Benzema. Bruno Cheyrou came to see us and apologized, asking after Karim. I know that given the quality of our technical staff, everything possible will be done to get him right for Tuesday because he’s a really important asset for OL’s game.

Hatem Ben Arfa: My goal wasn’t bad but the most important thing is the win. The second goal killed the game off at a time when Rennes was pushing pretty hard. I really wanted to play in order to find some rhythm ahead of the Barcelona game.
We’re not calling everything into question, we’re just trying to be effective for the team.
On Tuesday, we just have to try to play our game, otherwise, they’ll eat us up. Quite simply, we’ll play to win. We’ll give it everything. I spoke about it with Eric Abidal. It’ll be a tough match but I’m confident.
