Situation report from the president Jean-Michel Aulas

On Monday, the OL president looked back at events after the match in Avignon...he also spoke about the deadline on Wednesday night after the match against PSG...An interview which can be seen on Monday on OLSystem...

Can you elaborate on what happened after the match in Avignon?
"People took the liberty of writing anything. On Friday, after the win against Benfica, one could have expected more respect, more positive quotes. This is unacceptable in view of what happened on Wednesday night. The story written by Vincent Duluc on Friday in L’Equipe has been with enough inaccuracies and is a different story from reality. Vincent Duluc was mistaken about golden parachute that Claude Puel would supposedly benefit from. Having already answered questions about this last point on Friday, I had to do it more precisely after the match against Arles-Avignon regardless of future results. I explained to Vincent Duluc that it was not truthful and not according to the ethics of journalism. I defended the club's values. It was my duty to say it individually and then in a press conference..."

In the comments reported in L’Equipe, are some true and how would they have been disclosed?
"I do not know how Vincent Duluc was able to write this story. For my part, I did not hide that I met the coach and some players. I wanted to make sure that there was no big problem in relation to the coach. That's what I found. Things that were said on the outside, were said by people who were not present at the meeting. There was a different interpretation of the content".

The slap?
"It is very simple. An individual had already had a go at Bernard Lacombe in the first half. At the end of the game, that same person insulted me. I did what I had to do what every man would do in this situation. This individual later apologized and I accepted his apology. "

The sporting situation?
"This draw is a disappointment. We knew this match would be difficult. It was like a cup match against an opponent in a bad situation. We started the game badly, played, also, in complicated conditions (rain). At halftime, Claude Puel made changes. We equalized and could have gone on to win. The draw is a lost opportunity to move up into the top half of the table. The draw makes us puzzled over this 14th place in the rankings, while we have won three consecutive matches in the Champions League.

What will you be doing from now until Wednesday?
"I'll see all those people involved in the club. This Monday, it will be the technical staff. Tuesday, I'll meet with leaders of the supporters, who I would also like to thank. Wednesday morning, there will be a board meeting to discuss all the reflections taken over the last 5 games. And Wednesday night, there is an important game, even if this encounter in the Coupe de la Ligue is badly scheduled. We want to make the best choices for the institution. Is the decision already taken? There are trends that have emerged before the game against PSG. All is not related to the outcome of the forthcoming game. We must use our analysis to make the policy decision. This should strengthen our belief and then explain it by saying how we intend to proceed".
