To celebrate 50 years of the Treaty of Rome and Manchester United’s 50 years in the European Cup, Manchester hosted on Tuesday an international XI that included (during one half) Eric Abidal, Kim Källström, Florent Malouda and Grégory Coupet.

The match was won by the Red Devils 4 goals to 3. United’s scorers were Rooney, twice, Wes brown and Cristiano Ronaldo. Florent Malouda, with a strike from 25m, and El Hadji Diouf, who put home a double, were the “European” scorers.
