The low down on Racing Club de Strasbourg

Lyon have won on all of their last four trips to the Meinau. They also boast an impressive goal average of nine goals scored and none conceded! But while both sides will be missing players for this clash, the locals with have to do without four regulars.

And so it’s to Alsace where the Lyonnais resume their official activitites. To prevent any potential postponement of the match, Strasbourg has kept the pitch at the Meinau covered and is heating the surface to avoid the risk of freezing.

Strasbourg will, however, be without the services of four players: Kanté is treating a groin strain; Arrache, a strained thigh muscle; Hosni, thigh; and Keita, is still on the comeback trail after seriously injuring his knee against Ajaccio. Mouloungui has also been loaned out to Grenoble. Meanwhile Raja Casablanca’s Ivorian defender Edgar Loue Gnobela will be joining the club for the four and a half years.

Finally the former Lyon player Nicolas Puydebois was elected the Strasbourg Player of the Month for December. He replaced Stephane Cassard between the posts for the visit of Nice and has kept goal for the last five matches.
