18 players have been named by Gérard Houllier to take on Valenciennes on Friday. Cacapa makes his return to action with the reserves...

The Squad:
Coupet, Vercoutre – Clerc, Réveillère, Cris, Müller, Squillaci, Abidal, Berthod, Toulalan, Diarra, Källström, Tiago, Govou, Wiltord, Carew, Benzema, Malouda

Gérard Houllier How does this match against Valenciennes look?
It's a very, very important match. The spirit within the squad has been very good this week. I'm lucky to have a squad that has a very anglo-saxon mentality. As soon as one game is finished that think about the next one. Has the defeat changed anything? We drew conclusions. This loss brought back a few home truths. It's done some good for everyone. The loss wasn't due to tiredness. It was due to our mental failure to get into the match. Now we look more human. In France, we don't like winners, now we've moved on.

What is your new goal?
Concentrate on the match coming up. Valenciennes will be up for it and have nothing to lose playing against OL. What's more, it's never easy to take on Northern teams. They never give anything up. I like Antoine Kombouaré, he's a good guy. The team? You'll see. Cris makes his return... Juninho is suspended... Cacapa returns with the reserves. I'll make my final decision after the final training session and see how fresh everyone looks. Then after Valenciennes, that's when it gets interesting. We start a new cycle with six league games, two Champions League games and one Coupe de la Ligue clash.

And finally, a word about the nine players picked for France?
It's an honour for the club. Karim? It's an intelligent move from Raymond. Karim could easily become France's centre forward in the future. When a player is good, there is no age. The kid has a great attitude, a good home life and he made the right choice in staying at OL.
