Against Sochaux, Karim Benzema for the second time in his career scored two goals in a Coupe de France game…

He'd already done it during the 2005-2006 season against Grenoble. He did it again in Tuesday night against Sochaux. Karim scored twice. If you add his hattrick against earlier on in the season, he has now scored 7 goals in the Coupe de France, just like Sidney Govou. They are OL's top scorers, from the current group, in the Coupe de France. With these two goals, he has now scored 27 goals this season (17 in the League, 5 in the Coupe de France, 4 in the Champions League & 1 in the Coupe de la Ligue).

20 012 spectators at Gerland? It's the lowest attendance since the cup game against Bourg Peronas in the 2003-2004 season (14 475 spectators).

OL have now scored 82 goals after their win against Sochaux ; 82 goals in 44 games. Last season at the same point they had scored 78. With 58 goals scored in 29 league games OL have beaten there best score, which was 55 in the 2001-2002 season, then 54 in the 2006-2007 season. 82 goals? It's the record, since OL have been French champions.
On the other hand, the six times French champions have conceded 42 goals. They took 36 during the 2006-2007 season, 33 during the 2005-2006 season, 34 during the 2004-2005 season with only 17 conceded in the league…
