If five Lyonnais all got a taste of the action at the Stade de France for France-Italy on Wednesday, four other Lyon players were also in action with their respective national teams...

In Oslo, John Carew started the match in attack for Norway as they hosted Modova. He was replaced after 70 minutes. Norway had to wait until the final fifteen minutes of the match to overcome a determined Moldovan outfit, playing with only ten men for the second half. Norway finally ran out 2-0 winners with goals to Fredrik Strømstadet and Iversen, their second win in two Euro 2008 qualifiers.

In Group F, Sweden finally defeated Liechtenstein, 3-1 but the score didn’t reflect just how tough it was for the Scandinavians. Kim Källström was once again in the starting XI but was replaced after 56 minutes by Svensson.

In Helsinki, Tiago came on in the 86th minute at the expense of Deco. Making their debut in the Euro 2008 qualifiers, Portugal returned from Finland with a 1-1 draw.

For their part, Euro 2008 co-hosts Switzerland, won their Four Nations Tournament by defeating Costa Rica 2-0 thanks to goals from Marco Streller and Alexander Frei). Lyon defender Patrick Müller started in the centre of defence and made way for Von Bergen in the 69th minute.
