Thierry Henry is out!

Thierry Henry will miss Tuesday’s Champions League match against OL.

Yesterday, France’s all-time top scorer played the whole game against Recreativo Huelva (3-0) but sat out training this morning. According to the Blaugrana medical staff, he is suffering from back and pubis pain.

His absence is on top of those of defender Oleguer and Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o. This morning, the latter created a sensation by taking part in his first training session since sustaining an injury in the Joan Gamper trophy on the 29th of August.

So this means that of Barça’s 4 “fantastics”, only one will probably start the match: the Argentine Lionel Messi. Indeed, Ronaldinho’s recent performances would suggest that he will be used only as a substitute, even though the absence of the France hitman changes the lie of the land considerably. Rested against Recreativo, the Brazilian returns to the squad along with Lilian Thuram, who was given a breather after having played 90 minutes for France against Ukraine on Wednesday.

There is also doubt surrounding the participation of Carles Puyol. The Barça captain is in the squad but, having taken a knock to the ribs on Saturday night, trained separately form the rest of the squad today. Zambrotta, Abidal, Yaya Touré and Milito, who all started on Saturday, were given a reprieve and finished training early.

The Barcelona squad: Valdés, Jorquera, Márquez, Puyol, Sylvinho, Milito, Abidal, Thuram, Zambrotta, Touré, Gudjohnsen, Iniesta, Xavi, Marc Crosas, Ezquerro, Bojan, Ronaldinho and Messi
