Mr Tony Chapron will be the match referee for the derby on Sunday. He belongs to the Ligue Rhône-Alpes, so that makes this a home game for the official…

After Messrs Garibian and Sars in 2004-2005, Lannoy and Bré in 2005-2006 and Mr Duhamel in the first derby of this season, it’s now the turn of Tony Chapron, 34-yo; federal referee and research professor.

He has refereed 11 L1 matches in 2006-2007: Nantes 2-1 OM, Lens 2-0 Nantes, Bordeaux 1-0 OM, OM 2-1Monaco, Sochaux 3-2 PSG, VA 3-1 Troyes, TFC 1-0 Rennes, Lille 1-0 Nice, Monaco 0-0 Nice, Bordeaux 1-0 Le Mans and Nice 0-1 TFC. That’s 9 home victories, 1 draw and 1 away win.

He has handed out 46 yellow cards: 3 for shirt pulling, 2 for dissent, 1 for deliberate hand ball, 1 for simulation, 1 for a quickly taken free kick and 34 for dangerous play (tackles, challenges…). He has handed out 3 red cards (1 for insults and 2 for dangerous play).
