Week 24 of Ligue 1

The huge top of the table clash between OL and PSG towers over the rest of the Week 24 fixtures...

The final outcomes of the season will be still a long way off after Week 24 of the season with 52 Ligue 1 points still to be distributed. But this OL vs PSG could still play a huge role in the final wash-up. Who would have anticipated such an important clash at the start of the season? Lyon have surprised more than one and Paris have struggled. But PSG are starting to hit their straps and OL have no intention of standing aside...

But the two clubs aren't the only sides on course for the title. OM are still imperial at home, but they are struggling on the road. Will their trip to Rennes see them return to winning ways away fromthe Vél and reclaim that top spot in the league? Les Vertsare slowly sliding out of contention. If they want to keep their top three chances alive, it's time to show it, against struggling Lens. The Stade Malherbe de Caen have found some form: three wins in a row and suddenly Vercoutre  and Co. have climbed off the bottom, and out of the relegation zone! Can they go on with it against a Toulouse side that are still looking over their shoulders...?

Reims and Lorient are blowing hot and cold... could home advantage be the difference when the two clash? The Sporting Bastia made the headlines in defeating Monaco on penalties and qualifying for the final of the Coupe de la Ligue. Before their visit to the Stade de France, they have to try and save their place in the top flight as soon as possible. FC Metz are bottom of the pile and desperately need a second wind.

Les Aiglons have also won three in a row. Can they make it four when Nantes visit? It could give Claude Puel's side the boost they need to attack the top half of the table… MHSC are in similar form, but four points better off. They have the chance to add to Lille's woes. ETG are fighting for survival. It's the same again this week as they entertain a Bordeaux side who have lost some of their early season swagger...

Finally, EAG are in buoyant mood, in the image of their irrepressible striker Claudio Beauvue. In the space of just a few days, Monaco saw their progress in the league slowed, before being eliminated from the Coupe de la Ligue at the door to the final... It will be an excellent test of their mental strength in Brittany...
