The draw for the last 32 and last 16 of the new Women's Champions League will take place at noon today in Nyon. Lyon are amongst the seeded team's.

It is one of the novelties of the next season of female football. The UEFA Women's Cup will be replaced by the Female Champions League . Afterwards the matches will be played using the automatic elimination system from the last round of 32. The OL female team, semi-finalists of the last two editions are seeds, and should therefore receive an easier draw for the last 32 of the competition. Among the opponents to avoid are the Norwegians of Roa IL and the Danes of Fortuna Hjorring.

At midday, Farid Benstiti’s players will also know the identity of their potentional opponents in the last 16. There, they will have to hope that they do not end up facing one of the German sides : the current title holders, who defeated OL last season, FCR 2001 Duisbourg, FFC Turbine Potsdam and Bayern Münich. Attention should also be paid to the Swedes of FC Linkopings and Umea IK against whom OL lost two years ago, as well asd the English sides Arsenal and Everton, or even the Russian finalist of last season Zvezda-2005. In short Bref, the competition wil be stiff for a place in the final which will, just like the men’s competition, take place at the Santiago Bernabeu…
