Yassine Benzia sends France into the quarter finals

The French u17 side have qualified for the quarter finals of the World Cup, defeating the Ivory Coast (3-2). Yassine Benzia picked up a two goal haul.

Down 2 – 0 after 25 minutes of play, the French youngsters were able to turn the match around, thanks to two goals and an assist from Yassine Benzia. The Olympique Lyonnais attacker first tucked away a penalty just before half time. In the second half , he laid on an assist for Nangis before scoring the winning goal fifteen minutes before the end of the encounter. With this two goal haul, the Lyon player has a total of 5 goals from 4 matches.

In the quarter final, on the 4th of July, France will face the host nation, Mexico, who overcame Panama in the last sixteen match (2 – 0).
