Aviron Bayonnais - OL in the last 32 of the Coupe de France

The draw for the last 32 of the Coupe de France was held in Marseille today at13 h10. Olympique Lyonnais will head to Bayonne to take on Aviron Bayonnais, minnows from the CFA. The match will be played on Saturday January 6 or Sunday January 7 at the Didier Deschamps Stadium.

Founded in 1904, Aviron Bayonnais is an all-sports club of 16 different sections. The football section began in 1935.
Between 2002 and 2005, they have climbed a level every season, passing from the Division d’Honneur Aquitaine in 2002 to the National in 2005. After staying put for one season, they were relegated at the end of the 2005-2006 season, finishing 17th in the National Championship.

The Basques currently lead group C of the CFA. They are managed by Alain Pochat.

In the last round, “The Blues” of Aviron Bayonnais beat Cournon 2–2 (4–3 on penalties).

In 2004, they reached the quarter finals of the Coupe de France, where they were beaten 2–0 by PSG.

Notable among the other fixtures are Saint-Etienne–Sochaux and Nancy–Lens.
