Bruno Genesio talked to the media ahead of the Week 17 Ligue 1 clash away to Amiens:
"Jérémy (Morel) is available for Sunday. Maxwel (Cornet) is going a little better so we'll monitor his progress over the next couple of days. It was just a knock. Clément (Grenier), who has been injured for two months, could play for the reserves this weekend. He has played for a while and it would be great to see him out on the pitch."
Who to avoid in the Europa League Rd-32
"We have had a look at our potential opponents. Even if we'd finished top of the group we could still have drawn a big team in the round of 32. We'll see what happens in the draw on Monday, but we showed last season we can defeat anyone on our day. We need to be ready for everyone. I think the Europa League field is a lot stronger than last year."
The trip to Amiens
"They are in good form and cause a lot of problems to visiting sides. They are quick in attack and it will be a tough game, just like Caen. But we aso have our strengths and our playying style and we want to prepare well for upcoming games, including Marseille in Week 18. We want to be second at the winter break, as a reward for our hard work in the first half of the season. We wil do everything to make it happen."
"What worries me today is having so many
injuries in the same position. Bertrand
(Traoré) and Maxwel (Cornet) are the current example... It's a problem
because we are playing twice a week in December. I think about the
options, such as Willem (Geubbels), who came on yesterday, or Myziane
(Maolida), who wasn't in the squad against Atalanta. But there are also
other solutions, like reverting back to a diamond-shaped 4-4-2.
Concerning our form in front of goal, we aren't going to score three
goals every game, and neither can Nabil (Fekir). What matters to me is
the commitment. Nabil's will start scoring again and his confidence will
continue to build."
"They are very important for us. They really make an impact on our performances. It's great to have a Kop as noisy and passionate as the Bad Gones. We saw it last year in Europe, or this season against Monaco (3-2), for example, that they can push us to go that extra yard. We need them when things are going well, and also when the chips are down."
"We were disappointed with the result against Atalanta. Our aim was to finish top of the group, but we didn't do that. I think we were too cool when we walked onto the pitch, thinking that we were already qualified... I don't mind who we draw in the next round. We are playing twice a week in December and it's tough on the bodies. I want to win trophies here with Lyon: the league the Cups, I want to win as many as possible. To win the Ligue 1 would be fantastic. We know that PSG are a top team, but we have also seen that they can have a dip in form. We will try to do everything to close the gap to them and hold on to our second place."
