Check out who said what after the win over Lorient...
This year, our away record is unbelievable. This team is more mature. It has great solidarity and controls the game with their skill.
Kim Källström: It went well. We scored early and then we were able to keep our shape and we were able to control proceedings. In the first half, we only gave them one chance and in the second half, we killed the game off.
It was important to turnover the squad a little. Other players started the game with other qualities. Everyone has to play their part so the club can win as many trophies as possible.
François Clerc: We’ve brought back a good win from Lorient and a very important one for the championship. We’ve kept our winning run going and are still undefeated. We knew how to turn up and be counted even though it wasn’t a game against Real Madrid.
In the second half we got into a bit of trouble but we really stuck together. They pushed, but we were able to hit them where it hurts. I hope things continue that way.
It was a good team win. We’ve really got a quality squad. And that’s lucky because we want to go as far as we can in every competition.
Cris: That’s an important away game we’ve won there. It’s good for the squad. Last Wednesday was very tough against Real so the players were obviously tired tonight. The good thing is we have a squad where any of 23 can slide straight in.
Alou Diarra: We’re happy with the result. We’ve beaten a good Lorient team 3-1. We really took our chances and stuck together. It looks good for the coming weeks.
My debut in Lyon colours went well. It’s easy to play in a team as good as this. Everyone makes you feel confident. This squad really does have amazing spirit and every player is a born competitor.
Gérard Houllier: All the credit has to go to the players. After the match against Real, they could have really deflated, or self satisfaction, but they knew how to stay focused. This team really is a great squad. The best thing about today is that we were able to do without Juninho, with an eye on the next three games. We were just as efficient as ever. The teamspirit is so good that it makes it easier for the new players to integrate.
Steve Marlet: It was a logical result because OL were better than us. In the first half we lacked aggression, but in the second half we were better until they killed us.
The president gave me my championship trophy medal from 2001-02. I also caught up with Patrick Müller and Sylvain Wiltord and we talked about the good ol’ days.
