Training: A fast-paced session without the internationals

Published on the 08 November 2016 à 12:20 by YM

Lyon had their first training session of the week, with several youngsters stepping in for players away on international duty.

On Tuesday morning, three days after their success against Bastia (2-1), the Olympique Lyonnais players turned up at the Groupama OL Training Centre for the week's first training session. In the glacial cold, Bruno Genesio's men took part in a high-tempo ball session focusing on skill and control. Some regular team members were absent, with most of them set to take part in upcoming international fixtures. Nabil Fekir, Jordy Gaspar, Anthony Lopes, Nicolas Nkoulou, Macief Rybus and also Lucas Tousart were away, giving several young players from the reserves the opportunity to compete alongside the pros.

With this last international break of the year seeing national teams take centre stage, Lyon have no match scheduled for this weekend. The next league meeting, Week 13's trip to Lille, will come on Friday, 18 November away to Lille, who currently sit 18th in the league.
